Calligrapher Ouyang Zhongshi dies


China’s famous scholar, educator, calligrapher, member of the Central Museum of culture and history, member of the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th sessions of the National Committee of the Chinese people’s Political Consultative Conference, former consultant of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and an important pioneer in the construction of contemporary calligraphy discipline, Capital Normal University announced on the 5th, Ouyang Zhongshi, professor and honorary president of the Institute of Chinese calligraphy and culture of Capital Normal University, died in Beijing at 3:18 a.m. on November 5, 2020, at the age of 93. The farewell ceremony is scheduled to be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in the auditorium of Babaoshan funeral home.
